“This is bloody tedious,” he muttered, raising his drink to his lips.

“I know,” she said, checking her watch. “Not long now.”

“Well then.” He drained his glass and deposited it unceremoniously on the table. “Shall we have a dance to limber up?”

She smiled and took his hand and they joined the waltz. “Two minutes,” she whispered. “Assuming your brother can manage to detonate the charges on time.”

He shrugged. “Well, I’ll keep us away from the windows just in case.”
